Gift Registry
Over the last few weeks we took stock of what we already have, what we want and what we could actually use. Visit the links to our registries if you’re so inclined. But really, we’re just excited that you’re coming to celebrate with us, and what we really want you to do is to sit back, relax and enjoy the party.
In addition to the typical sorts of wedding gifts that you see listed on a registry, we also wanted to include a charitable giving option. We’ll each be riding over 100 miles this coming September around Cayuga Lake in an effort to raise support for the Southern Tier AIDS Program (click here to see an interactive map of the course) with our team “The Porch Surfers”. Last year’s ride raised over $250K, and we’re hoping to help them break another record this year.
Donating to the cause is a worthy and appreciated wedding gift as well, and we wouldn’t have added this option to our registry if it wasn’t something we would greatly appreciate!
We hope that you will consider supporting us in this effort–feel free to email us if you have any questions. (Click here to check out our online donation site for the AIDS ride.)
For the more traditionally consumer options, click on the store icon to visit our registry at that site – just search under our names and the wedding date (August 31) and you’ll get to our registries (keep reading for news on the shotgun…) :
We’re still getting inquiries about whether the shotgun is in one of the registries…well, it turns out that you can’t buy a gun over the internet (especially not at Williams-Sonoma!). The shotgun we’re interested in is the Remington 870 Express Super Magnum Combo:
the ultimate in strength, durability, silky-smooth bind-free action, and sleek classical lines
If this sounds like your kind of gift giving, let us know so that we don’t get more than one (!) and we’ll update the listing to reflect your generosity : )

Erin Bohman grew up in Farmington, MO. She started her college career at Missouri State University in Springfield, where she enjoyed the Ozark Mountains. A longing for the West and younger mountains drew her to the University of Montana in Missoula, MT, where she finished her degree in biology and met Charles (her TA for mammalogy!). After several years of travel and field jobs, she and Charles now live in Ithaca, NY. Read more about her travels over the last year at
Growing up on the outskirts of Cleveland was hard on charles, and after numerous attempts to swim the Cuyahoga River he was forced to don protective gear to block the sun's deadly rays. From time to time he writes about Sapsucker Woods (where he currently works)--read more about it at
Cash works right?
I thought about a first aid kit in case the shot gun becomes a reality.
I think whatever I’m hunting will be beyond the abilities of a first aid kit…you didn’t mean that we would need a first aid kit, did you? I’m certified to use a firearm by the United States Government, so you know Ive got good aim (well, sort of…)
