Well-it was bound to happen: the wedding invitation postcards that we sent out have been described as “beautiful”, “creative”, and the ever-popular “I thought it was an ad for the Gap!”. But the most treacherous of all interpretations was the impression that it was merely a “Save-the-date” card, with an RSVP invitation to follow on its heels. Au contraire mon ami, that postcard is an all-in-one postage-and-paper-saving wonder of modern technology, with all of the information you need to “respondez si vous plait” while minimizing the waste of paper AND saving us a bunch of cold hard green. So go ahead–don’t be shy: drop us an email and let us know whether or not you’re coming. I promise we’ll write it down and make sure there’s a sunny summer day waiting for you when you arrive in Ithaca in August!
Erin Bohman grew up in Farmington, MO. She started her college career at Missouri State University in Springfield, where she enjoyed the Ozark Mountains. A longing for the West and younger mountains drew her to the University of Montana in Missoula, MT, where she finished her degree in biology and met Charles (her TA for mammalogy!). After several years of travel and field jobs, she and Charles now live in Ithaca, NY. Read more about her travels over the last year at
Growing up on the outskirts of Cleveland was hard on charles, and after numerous attempts to swim the Cuyahoga River he was forced to don protective gear to block the sun's deadly rays. From time to time he writes about Sapsucker Woods (where he currently works)--read more about it at
erin’s FAVORITE uncle dave says: “I always knew she had an affection for the outdoors! When I heard she was studying the reproductive cycle of the Tasmanian Beetle Snail in the wilds of Karpeet I knew that she had found her niche’!
Erin and Charles,
We are looking forward to joining you and your families on August 31st. Erin, I have talked with your Mom and we are very excited about the trip, which I think we will make into a mini vacation. See you then!
I don’t think the state of Virginia has been represented, so we’ll be there. Kiddos can come?
