On the lookout for good caterers November 15, 2007

yumLet’s face it: everything food-related in Ithaca is overpriced and for the most part, bland. But the fun part about finding a caterer for the reception is that we get to go around and taste- taste-taste the goods before we commit. Although we have dreams of tasty treats for the wedding, we also have to remain within budget, and given our shared appetites for good food (and good drinks!) I have a feeling that it will take a LOT of taste testing to arrive at a consensus :)

So-what about your thoughts? Anyone have experience with central NY caterers that they would like to share? Menu ideas, yummy dishes you’ve had at other weddings (or at your own) that were hits? We’d love to leverage your experience into a fun and great-tasting dinner for the reception.

Feel free to leave us a comment about your foodie thoughts (the comment button is at the top of the post), or drop us an email! We’ll post more as we learn more…

contact Jan & Dave Brown @ 920 Hector St. Ithaca. They’ve lived there for 20 years and may know of someone. Tell them Hildegarde said to call them. And my husband and I know your Mom, Sally. we have a best friend in common in Berea and Medina! Hildegarde Bender
